Family policies

Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

In the pool, and watching

An instructor is in the water beside every swimmer for the whole lesson. A parent or another adult stays on the deck where the swimmer can see them. The family keeps the pool's gate and fence, a shady spot and a towel ready.

What to wear and bring

Swim shirts are welcome at every level. Bring a big towel, tie long hair back, and pack goggles if your swimmer likes them.

When to keep your child home

Please keep a swimmer home with a fever, a stomach bug or an open sore, and tell us by text. We make up the lesson within the session.

Closures for weather and holidays

At the first thunder everyone leaves the water and we wait for it to pass. A lesson cut short or called off for the weather is made up within the session. We tell families by text if a storm moves a day.

Screens and phones

Please keep phones away from the water's edge, so the adult on the deck can watch the lesson.

Brothers, sisters and friends at the pool

Brothers and sisters are welcome on the deck with an adult. Please keep them out of the water during the lesson, and let us know if a sibling would like a lesson of their own.

Leaving the program

We ask for a week's notice before a swimmer stops. Tell us by phone, text or email.

Ask about a first visit

Tell us your town and your swimmer's age, and we will say which days we are near you.
