Lessons at your pool

How a lesson goes

A lesson is thirty minutes in your pool. A session is six lessons.

  1. 01

Step 1: Arrive and set up

The instructor arrives a few minutes early, closes the gate behind them and says hello to your swimmer and to the adult on the deck.

  2. 02

Step 2: Warm up in the shallow end

Walking in by the steps, blowing bubbles at the wall and getting used to the water for the day.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Practice one thing

Floating, kicking, breathing or a stroke, depending on the level, with the instructor in the water beside your swimmer.

  4. 04

Step 4: Finish with the adult

The last minutes are a game. Then the instructor tells you what the lesson covered and what comes next.

In the water

Who is in the water, and who is on the deck

An instructor is in the water beside your swimmer for the whole lesson. A parent or another adult stays on the deck where the swimmer can see them, with phones put away from the edge.

Lessons are no substitute for adult supervision, at your pool or any other.

What a swimmer needs

  • A towel

A big one, on a chair within reach of the pool.

  • A swim shirt

Welcome at every level, and at every lesson.

  • Goggles

If your swimmer likes them. We try them on at the first visit.

  • Hair tied back

A band or a swim cap keeps hair out of the face.

Ask about a first visit

Tell us your town and your swimmer's age, and we will say which days we are near you.
